Recently while on a speaking trip to the city of Ghent, Belgium where I had been invited to speak to business students at a local college, I quickly discovered that Ghent is a wonderful city to visit but is not well known by North American vacationers.
This city of 250,000 includes 70,000 university and college students which as a result create a unique and healthy mix of rich history with youth and vitality. The city struck me as a place North Americans would love and given its location in between the capital of Brussels and the resort city of Bruges, it would make for an amazing place to spend a few days as part of a larger Belgium holiday. As a result, and since I had my video cameras and gear with me on the trip I decided to also shoot a travel review while there and I’m happy to share it below.

Nice work, Eric. Next time we’re in Belgium, we’ll look into Gent. Years back, after a 1-week cycling tour of Holland, we spent another week in Bruges and Brussels, whilst in Belgium. The rest of the week was spent in the Ardennes forest, pursuing the Battle of the Bulge historic sites.
