Infiniti Motors Global Launch of Q50 Sedan & Hybrid

(DETROIT, MI) Infiniti Motors today began the process of rebranding it’s product line with the launch of an all new designed vehicle as well as returning to a naming style of its earlier days.

For reasons known only to Infiniti, all sedans currently branded under the G and M series will be re-categorized under the Q nomenclature – as it once was when Infiniti introduced itself to the North American marketplace.  What was once a G series vehicle will know be known as a Q50 and what was once an M series will now be known as a Q70 (got that?).

While confusing to most, the good news is the newly designed Q50 sedan is an eye catcher.  Even better is that the new “Q” will include among its offerings a new hybrid which now brings a second hybrid to the Infiniti line up.  The Q50 hybrid will be slightly smaller than the Q70 hybrid (or was that the M35h…oh wait, they’re one and the same).

The new “Q” will find its way to North American retailers in the later stages of 2013.  In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on a video recap of the launch which included a brief introductory performance by members of the famed cirque du soleil.
