Hyundai Previews Soon-to-be-Launched All-New Sonata

Hyundai Motor Company today previewed the soon-to-be-launched all-new Sonata with the release of its first official exterior rendering. The Korean version of the Sonata is scheduled to make its world premiere later this month in Korea while the Sonata for Canada and the U.S. will be shown for the first time in April at the New York International Auto Show.

Based upon this exterior rendering, there is a similarity with that of the recently revealed 2015 Genesis.  This appears consistent with the roll out of their Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy.  The original incarnation produced a family of vehicles (Accent, Elantra, Sonata) that shared many similar exterior design concepts, and it seems that with the 2.0 concept the look is cleaner and more avant-garde than with before.

UPDATE:  (March 5th) New interior image just released to the media

It will be interesting to see the full roll out of Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 going forward.  But from this vantage point, it’s so far, so good.
